What information a Nikah case can contain
A case can include account email addresses, the names and countries of the bride and groom, wali and witness details, the agreed Mahr, ceremony language, issues raised for imam review, identity or supporting documents, participant confirmations, signatures, ceremony records and the final certificate record.
Technical and security records may also be kept where needed to protect accounts, investigate access problems and maintain an audit trail around important case actions.
Why VidNikah uses that information
The information is used to create and manage the Nikah case, invite the correct participants, check preparation, support imam and staff review, control access to the ceremony room, record the ceremony stages and issue or verify the Islamic certificate.
Not every participant sees everything
Case access is role based. A participant does not automatically receive access to another participant's private identity document or signature simply because they are part of the same Nikah. Staff and imam access is also restricted according to the work they need to carry out and the case they are assigned to.
Free tools are different from a Nikah case
The free marriage planners and calculators work without an account. The answers you enter into those tools stay in the current browser session and are not saved to your VidNikah account.
Live video is not recorded by default
The ceremony uses live video so the participants can take part remotely. VidNikah does not enable ceremony recording by default. If recording is ever introduced, it should have a separate purpose, clear notice and an appropriate consent or legal basis before it is used.
How long information is kept
Different records can need different retention periods. Identity documents should not automatically be kept for the same length of time as an issued certificate or audit record. VidNikah will publish the final retention schedule before the public service accepts real customer identity documents.
Formal privacy information before public launch
Before the production service asks the public to upload real identity documents, the full privacy notice will identify the data controller, the legal bases used for processing, relevant service providers, retention periods, data-rights information and the correct privacy contact route.
